The good news just kept on coming these last couple of weeks –  it almost made me forget it was October 17th last Thursday, the day my interview with Belgian newspaper De Standaard was published. It was a brief affair, but it’s always nice to see your name in print and I was pleased as punch with the result. Although I doubt I’ll ever be allowed to set foot again in the Moooi showroom. I was asked about interior design trends for 2014 and this is what I had to say in Dutch and English:

Warm and cosy materials

Patrick Kooiman is the man behind The interior stylist spots interior designs trends and shares them on his blog. “Warmth and cosiness is what we look for and find in 2014. Materials that were out of style make a comeback – like plywood, green marble and even brass. A good example is the warm and inviting furniture line by Modiste Furniture that breathes new life into Modernism. We’re pretty much done with that hideous horse lamp by Marcel Wanders (laughs).

That (laughs) was added by the editor and I have to say, it’s a nice little touch that perfectly sums up my feelings about that design joke of a lamp that I hate with a fiery passion that makes me want to run to the nearest butcher and buy the biggest piece of horse steak they have. Anyway, it’s nice to see they added one the pictures I took at Abigail Ahern’s home last April.
