A good friend of mine walked up to me during a party last week two weeks ago three weeks ago and asked me if she could give me some advice. “ You know, you really should try and keep Interiorator alive. We rarely see anything new anymore.” Of course, I instantly knew she was right – even though the days seem to be flying by with my new job at Category Lead Antiques at Catawiki and the dog I got last year. And just like that, I decided to get back in the game and blog as regularly as possible a bit more regularly. So much better and more personal than Instagram! Years ago, I used to write a recurring feature called “And More” that featured bits and pieces of interesting stuff I had found online. It didn’t really matter if it was interior design, art or something totally different. As long as it was cool and something I could write about quickly, it was good enough. I had a lot of fun writing a new “And More” and of course, I hope you like reading as well. To quote Lina Lamont from Singin’ in the Rain (God, I love that movie)…If I bring a little joy into your humdrum lives, it makes me feel as though my hard work and been in vain for nothin’.

And Just Like That

Ha! What better way to celebrate a comeback of sorts than with…another comeback of sorts! So, admit it…you *know* you really, really couldn’t wait for yet another Sex & the City comeback. This time around, it’s a new series called And Just Like That and let’s face it – aren’t you just dying to find out how Samantha gets booted from the show? I could totally understand Samantha being unfriended by Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte after that god-awful ‘Lawrence of my Labiaaaaaaa’ joke in Sex and the City 2, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Catawiki Catch of the Week

Special objects, selected by experts – that’s Catawiki! And I can’t tell you how proud I am to finally be part of this super cool company. I work as a Category Lead Antiques now, which means that together with a fantastic team of antiques experts I have to make sure that all the antiques auctions run smoothly and according to Catawiki’s guidelines. Now, I don’t know about you but when I first started buying at Catawiki, I always checked out all the interior design auctions, but never really checked out all the antique items on offer. Which is a total shame, because there’s so much cool stuff to discover if you only look closely enough. And so, I thought that starting today, I’d share my favorite item in the current antiques auctions with you.

Ridgway service

Now, if I’ve said it once then I’ll say it again. Gladly. The trick in life is to enjoy the little moments…in style. It’s a little lesson I learned when I interviewed Monique des Bouvrie once. Having some friends over? Then for heaven’s sake don’t serve tea in some chipped company mugs from the back of your kitchen cupboard. And don’t even think of dunking the tea bag three or four times and then unceremoniously tossing it on the sink. No, what you need instead, is this fabulous cobalt blue Ridgway porcelain tea service. Be careful, though…it’s from the early 19th century so this stuff is old.

Freeling Waters

Oh my god! If this video from Freeling Waters doesn’t get your creative juices flowing faster than eeeh…something that flows very fast, well I don’t know what will! I’ve been wanting to do a little painting myself recently. But I also got a new iPad with one of those fancy drawing pencils a few months ago, so I don’t know what to postpone doing first!

London Basin Company’s Marnie

Let’s see, which surfaces in my home have not yet been painted out and / or upholstered in luscious colors? Eeeer….my bathroom sink (and that’s just about it, scarily enough)! Luckily, the folks over at London Basin Company seem to have just the solution. Their yellow Marnie basin looks absolutely lovely, don’t you think?
