Even the celebrity visitors are vintage at Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, the world’s biggest antiques market in Paris. Take Rod Stewart, for example. I ran into him when I was taking pictures for this week’s Paris Special on Interiorator. I had my camera at the ready when he walked right by me, but out of the utmost respect for Rod’s privacy, I didn’t want to photograph him straight in the face. Instead, I went around his back. No need to be rude, right? And for the record: Rod did not ask me if I thought he was sexy, come on sugar let me know.
After this mildly exciting brush with celebrity, I soldiered on to the Habitat 1964, the vintage store run by, of course, Habitat. Still one of my favorite brands, Habitat did not disappoint. The Espace Vintage was decorated très tastefully and together with a kick-ass DJ and an American trailer serving hamburgers outside, everything was just perfect for this Young Turk.
