I don’t know about you, but I always do a lot of research before I make a reservation at a hotel. It’s always a bit of a challenge to find just the right place to stay – especially if you’re traveling to a city you’ve never been to. Is the hotel in a convenient location? What do the rooms really look like? Can I sleep in the lap of luxury without breaking the bank? For my trip to Ghent, I decided to stay at the Grand Hotel Reylof and I must say, I’m very glad I did.
As you can see in the pictures below, the Reylof is situated in a stunning building in the center of the city. Everything, and I do mean everything, is in walking distance. The interior design of the hotel is definitely in a league of its own. I saw some pretty daring combinations of classic chic and ultramodern design with some amazing out of the box color combinations. This boutique hotel is clearly not afraid to take risks when it comes to design! That being said, the Reylof has everything you can expect from an upscale hotel – comfortable rooms, great beds, extremely friendly service, a delicious European breakfast buffet and to top things off, a very nice spa with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room that came in just perfect after a long day of visiting all the sights.
By the way, don’t forget to check out the Living & Design page I write for Dutch luxury department store de Bijenkorf – I’ll publish a blogpost on all the highlights of Ghent sometime next week.
Full disclosure – the Grand Hotel Reylof was kind enough to pay for my stay.
