Royal Showpieces Shimmer and Shine at Paleis Het Loo – part 3

Now that I look back at the final pictures I took at the Royal Showpieces exhibition at Het Loo Palace recently, I realize I got carried away a bit by all the eccentric antique pieces and sort of forgot about all the modern Dutch design on display – sorry! But let’s face it, whose eyes wouldn’t be drawn instantly to a pair of giant antique elephant feet next to a fireplace? I like to brag that Interiorator can be on the edge of good taste and I guess this is my chance to back up that claim. I was also fascinated by Queen Wilhelmina’s children’s room – so cool to see child-size versions of what looks like very grown-up furniture! And let’s not forget that gold pineapple chandelier – so cool to see that the gold pineapple trend of 2014 had a predecessor a long time ago. Who knows wha othert future interior trends are hiding in this ancient palace?

PS: In case you missed them, here are part one and two of the Royal Showpieces series.
