Not one second after Desiree of Vosgesparis.com and I walked into the Perscentrum Wonen space at Elle Festival last Saturday, she turned around and said: “Oh, this is more your kind of thing!” And it’s true, I’m a sucker for bright and colorful design. Not as much as I used to be, but still. Give me a bunch of clashing patterns and a pink, green and blue Eighties chandelier and I’m a happy man. And so you can imagine I felt right at home at this eclectic fantastic Wanderlust trend presentation for the modern Gypsetter (and in case you’re like me and you don’t know what that means…here’s the definition from UrbanDictionary.com: “Yuppies, Yippies, Jet Setters, Bright Young Things, Generation X, Generation Y . . . and now the Gypset. Fusing the ease and carefree lifestyle of a gypsy with the sophistication of the jet set, the Gypsetters are artists, surfers, designers, and bon vivants who live and work around the globe, from Jose Ignacio, Uruguay and Ibiza, Spain, to Montauk, New York. Gypset Style explores the unconventional, wanderlust lives of these high-low cultural nomads and the bohemian enclaves they inhabit, as well as their counterculture forbears, such as the Victorian explorers, the Lost Generation, the Beatniks, and the hippies.”)
I have to admit that I was so eager to take pictures of everything I saw, I forgot to write down the names of all the designers. Fail! I promise, however, that I will contact Perscentrum Wonen and see if they can help out. For now, you’ll have to make do with their special Wanderlust trend page.
