Schlemmer time! The Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart is the host of an Oskar Schlemmer exhibition that you simply cannot miss. Except I am going to miss it, because I just don’t have the time to travel from my home in Rotterdam, the Netherlands all the way to southern Germany anytime soon. Instead, I’ll just have to look at these amazing pictures from the Visionen einer neuen Welt exhibition and wish I was there. Now for those of you who think this all looks kind of familiar, you might remember a blogpost about Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet a while ago complete with over a dozen screenshots. At the time, I called it ‘the weirdest thing you’ve never seen’ and I still stand by those words. It’s pretty darn weird and I’m sure that many of you have never seen anything remotely like it. Anyway, in case you’re too lazy to mosey over to said blogpost, I’ve included the Triadic Ballett video and a two-part video about the Bauhaus ballet as an added bonus. How about that? Sorry about the Turkish voiceover in those last two video’s by the way – except if your’e Turkish of course because in that case I’d say Merhaba to Interiorator and Görüşürüz (I had to look that up, but I guess you figured that one out, right?). Okay now, gotta run – see ya!
The Oskar Schlemmer Visionen einer neuen Welt exhibition ends on April 6, 2015. More details on Staatsgalerie.de.
