Good morning, Amsterdaaaaaaam! I’ll be making my radio debut on Amsterdam FM this morning at 10.45. Exciting to the nth degree, don’t you think? If you’re interested in hearing about all the latest tech and trends, you can tune in on 106.8FM or – of course – you can listen to me online. UPDATE: You can listen to the full interview right here. These are the items I’ll be talking about with DJ Sander Oudkerk:
1 – Microsoft Surface Pro 3 – the tablet that can replace your laptop
It’s twoo, it’s twoo! My prayers have been answered – Microsoft has just released the one machine that can replace your laptop, your tablet and your notepad. It’s called the Surface Pro 3 and I picked it up at the Microsoft head office in Schiphol yesterday. I’ll be working and playing with it for the next five weeks and of course I’m going to share my experiences right here on Interiorator. In the meantime, anyone interested in a busted up Macbook Air?
2 – Better safe than sorry! Check out these Boca do Lobo Millionaire limited edition safe boxes
I was speechless. I was without speech – when I first saw these extremely limited edition safe boxes by Boca do Lobo. I visited this amazing furniture brand in Portugal last week and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Beautifully designed chairs, tables and home accessories, all made by hand in Porto, with some items marketed unashamedly to the ‘one per cent’ people of this world. My full report on my stay at the Boco do Lobo Design Suite at the Hotel Infante Sagres in Porto will be online in September.
3 – I think I’m going slightly Madd for Maddnes
No, my favorite part of Amsterdam is not the train back to Rotterdam! It’s the Maddnes showroom on Cruqiuiskade 85. In case you haven’t heard of them, Maddnes is a group of three designers who work in a style that is completely unique. I’ve written about them before and I’ll write about them again. And again. The yellow leg table you see here was featured in VTWonen recently (that’s my bedroom by the way) and that giant Roman head you see makes for one hell of a focus point in my living room. You can buy these and other items in the Maddnes webshop.
4- UE Boom!
A new gadget that I’ll be testing next week is the Logitech UE Boom 360 degree speaker that is supposed to ‘drop bold, immersive sound in every direction’. We’ll have to see about that one. For now, I have to decide on the right color – and ask myself, can music get me laid?
5- Are bikes electric?
Sure they are! I went to the Frozen Fountain on Prinsengracht recently and to my great surprise they’re selling this very cool Gocycle electric bike. This mothereffer is fast as hell so if you saw a bald man with big glasses racing through the Jordaan recently, it probably was me! You can read more about the Gocycle right here on Interiorator.
Okay, well that should be it! I’m going to practice my radio voice now. Let me know what you think about my Amsterdam FM radio debut!
