Oh happy day! I have actually FINISHED something! Yes, the Piet Hein Eek I painted recently to support the Histor 101 Karakters campaign is DONE and so is the wall behind it. Now, before you say anything, let me say that it was a very dark and rainy day here in Holland yesterday so excuse me if the picture looks a bit grainy. I’m not home during the daytime this coming week so yesterday was my one and only chance to take a halfway decent picture with daylight. I have to say I had a blast working on this project and it was a joy to work with Histor Perfect Finish paint. Definitely my favorite paint brand from now on!
And although I might edit down the styling a bit, I think the final result is a vast improvement over what I started out with. I also checked the moodboard I made a while ago – looks pretty similar, right? I guess it’s time to move one step up the ‘translatio, imitatio, aemulatio’ ladder with my next big project. Yes, I’m talking about the infamous hallway makeover, a project I started on about six months ago and never got around to finishing. I have no idea what I’m going to do with it, so that should definitely be an interesting experience. Yay!
PS: I’ll be in Eindhoven next Saturday to see how the 101 winners of the Histor 101 Karakters competition are going to paint their own cabinet – and take it home with them when they’re finished. Should be a lot of fun!
