Knee deep in bit…eeeh confetti at the Elle Decoration Studio at Elle Inside Design 2013 – and lovin’ every minute of it! I spent yesterday at Elle Inside Design Amsterdam, which has always been one of my favorite design events of the year. This year’s edition had a very promising start at the Elle Decoration Studio at Lobster House on Frederiksplein. The confetti on the floor was definitely one of those simple ideas that make you slap your forehead and scream: Now why didn’t I think of that? The rest of the exhibition was pretty darn cool as well as you can see. Lots of different concepts, and luckily not too many frackin’ pastels – when oh when are people going to be done with that trend? Personal highlights: that mirror of the moon, the oak credenza from FabriekNL, the gold palm tree lamp and that wall with all the brightly-colored graphic patterns. Oh, and if I may be brutally honest…I would have used the entire space instead of just the walls. Although everything looked very stylish, it also looked very two-dimentional and magazine-ish. Other than that, I thought everything looked great and I’m sure I’m going to be spending some more time going over all the great styling details.
Back tomorrow with more pics from Elle Inside Design – enjoy your Sunday!
