You gots to be assertive when you’re nuts about Dries Van Noten and want to take some pictures of his exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Just pretend you accidentally missed the ‘no photography’ sign and then do you thing until the guard walks up to you and says that if you MUST take pictures, use your mobile phone. In which case you whip out your Nokia Lumia 1020 and merrily go along your business. At least, that’s what I did! And as you can see, it was well worth it. What is particularly cool about this particular fashion exhibition, is that it shows where Van Noten gets his inspiration from – which can run from a Victor Vasarely painting to British Army uniforms from the 1930’s.
By the way, if you’re into fashion exhibitions be sure to check out the blogpost I wrote earlier about Jean-Paul Gaultier and the ModeMuseum in Antwerp! Enjoy your Friday.
